Mama for the day

Going to Idaho means major family time! Like mmmajor. If you didn't know most of my aunts, uncles, grandmas, and grandpas are in Idaho. Not all but most of them. So when we go there we have a lot of family time, hanging out, eating lots of food, and doing what we do best, going cccrazy. The first day that we were there we hung out with my cousins from my mom's side. They were visiting Grandma for the week and were leaving the next day so we spent the day with them at Rexburg Rapids and then went to Grandmas house and made dinner. It was SO crazy with SO many kids! And lets be honest we really didn't have that many.

We went to McDonalds for lunch before Rexburg Rapids and it was SO crazy. We had picked up Taeden from his mama so she could finish getting ready and getting Caleb ready. While we were ordering, Taeden had to go to the bathroom so I took him and of course at the same time Haizlee says she has to go too! So I take them both to the bathroom and I tell Haizlee to stand in a certain spot while Taeden goes and she starts fffffreaking out! AHHH I'm trying to calm her and Taeden is freaking out that he has to go and then she runs out of the bathroom. AHHH (how do people have 2 children. I have SO much to learn!) Luckily Emily got her, they were done ordering and my mom was able to calm her while I attended to Taeden. It was an adventure.

Being with those kids the past few weeks really gave me appreciation for mamas with multiple kids and having to go to the restroom in public. Just trying to take Haizlee with me was a challenge  She wanted to go under the door, or open the door, or just awkwardly have a full on conversation. HA I guess I need to get used to it if I am going to be a mama some day.
I had to post this for Emily. She was SOOOO Sunburnt
from Schlitterbuan. She lathered on that sunscreen

Honestly I love those kids to death but I sure did see how much of a handful they can be! I have so much to learn when I become a mama.

Stay tuned for more adventures!

And the Festivities Begin!

October was a good month. and looking back I can't believe it has already come and gone. Life is busy. School is hard. and so is work. we are two worn out kids ready for a little break coming in 2 weeks. However we had some fun activities this month that kept life being really great.

  • First we went to the Carrie Underwood and Hunter Hayes concert! It was amazing. probably one of the best concerts I have been to, and lets just say I have been to a lot of concerts. Andrew got me tickets for my Birthday in July so I had been looking forward to this day for a long time. And they did not let me down. We got delicious Thai food at this great place in Provo and then headed to the concert in Salt Lake. We walked in while Hunter was performing. Now I haven't listened to much of his music but this boy melted my heart. My sister is in LOVE with him and I understand why. His voice is wonderful and if you haven't heard his single Wanted, you should click here and listen to this beauty. Now Carrie Underwood was for sure the BEST thing ever. What a voice that girl has and what a performance. I was entertained and in aw the whole time. She even floated over the crowed with her band on a piece of the stage! (picture below). It was AWESOME.

  • One weekend.. we went to Murray, Utah (Where my little brother is living on a mission right now for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and we went shopping :) it was fun and relaxing. Bought a few little treats. And then we headed over to Scheel's, a sporting good type store, for its grand opening. We walked all around and took some fun pictures. It is a fun place and I am pretty surprised we didn't walk away spending a lot of money, instead we bought nothing. How good are we? ha I am sure we will go back :)

  • The last weekend of October we headed up to Rexburg so that Andrew could scare in the straw maze. If you remember last year he was able to work at the straw maze the whole month of October. He LOVED that job and was really missing it. So we were able to go up for a weekend so that he could scare on Friday and Saturday night and I could spend time with the Parson's and the Checketts. I had realllllly been missing my little baby boys so I am very glad we got to go. Andrew got a little scaring out of his system which is always nice for me and overall it was cold but great weekend.

  • As for Halloween we dressed up as an Old Man and an Old Woman. It was hilarious. Andrew even had these little hair pieces for his ears. He legitimately looked like an old man. I can't wait to have kids to dress up in obnoxiously cute and awesome costumes. And I really can't wait to pass out candy to all the little kids in the neighborhood. I love seeing everyones costumes and hearing trick-or-treat. We stopped by Hannah Taylor's party and hung out there for a while. She was dressed up as Katy Perry, it was awesome!

What a great month. and I am thinking november is going to be just as great!
Hope you guys are having a great week!
Happy Election day! Did you go out and vote?
I got to vote for the first time ever. I was so excited for it and really looking forward to it. and it was great. I like getting my little red sticker.

We have spent the night anxious and watching fox news and eating pizza. Oh me oh my, what a night. We are ready to hear the outcome! Hope you all did your part and went out and voted!

ohh baby, baby, baby OHHHHHH

On Saturday, August 4th 2012, my sister gave birth to our second nephew (we also have one niece) in Rexburg.

So we decided to head back up to Rexburg after just leaving and spend some time with my family and meet this little chunk of cuteness. and man am I glad I did.
He is such a CUTIE.

Caleb Steven Checketts.

the longest baby I have ever heard of and seen. he was a good 22 incher. Long fingers and very long toes. his feet are huge. and I am SO sad we moved at the time of his birth. I wish we could have spent more time with him and his awesome parents. But we will be sure to visit :)

I just love this last one of Andrew holding him and the serious look on Andrews face. It makes me smile :)

We are an Aunt and Uncle AGAIN.
YAY

Moving On

I am saddened at how behind I have become at blogging because MAN are things happing around here! I have so much to tell I don't even know where to begin. I guess I will start off with this...

We MOVED. it is done. and over with. We are gone from Rexburg. and let me tell you I never want to move again. It is stressful and exhausting. And of course two days before the actual move I get really SICK. darn you germs. So the whole time we were hauling stuff in and out and out and in I was sick. Let me just tell you that was not good. I do not suggest it to anyone. But it is all over and done with and now it is on to the organizing.

Now this move was not an easy one, and not just because of me being sick.
A few weeks before we moved down we came to Provo and looked for two days for a place to life. We found a cute little basement and it was right by campus so I was reallllly happy.
Well On July 31st we drive down to Provo, Andrew in the moving truck and me in the car. I get to the apartment about 30 minutes before I am supposed to do a walk through with the manager. I sit in front of the house and notice the old tenants are STILL MOVING OUT. I got a little confused at that point. I go meet with the manager and she says they aren't out yet and she asks if I can come back later that day. I agree. We go back a few hours later and she says it isn't cleaned yet can you call me tomorrow at noon and I will let you know when you can move in. I agree. It will give us time to rest up and be ready to move all of our stuff again (Luckily we had the truck for about 3 days).

Next day. I call. She says meet me there and we will do the walk through. We go there, she hands us a paper and says mark the damages and anything you would like cleaned again. We go in and we are in SHOCK! The carpets are still drying from being cleaned. and that was the only thing that looked like it had been cleaned. There were holes and mold and nastiness all over.

I proceeded to freaking out a little. Andrew proceeded to getting mad and frustrated. We don't have time for this.

After not being able to get ahold of her to do more cleaning and try to repair the damages, we start looking for a new place to live. and our stress level proceeds to increase. We have to return the truck by the next day.

Our friend suggests we try the BYU Student Family Housing. We agree even though in our minds we are thinking they have a waiting list and have nothing available immediately.

We go. We take a tour. It is a million times better than the basement apartment. We sign up.
By 8 o'clock that night we are moving into a completely different apartment than the one we had planned to move into that morning.

I feel so blessed. We were so blessed to find a good place to live and move in all in the same day. We had an awesome amount of help and I was so AMAZED by everyones willingness to help and at how friendly our neighbors are. We had people coming over to help or even just to say Hi and introduce themselves. Even though this was such a stressful and frustrating time for us, I believe that it worked out for the best and it is what Heavenly Father wanted for us. We were supposed to live here. We were supposed to learn something from this and I truly believe we have. We have grown. and continue to.

And now Provo is our new home. I am about to start school on the 27th and I am nervous. Andrew has a job interview tomorrow and he is nervous. Here comes all of the new challenges and experiences.

Hope you all are having a great week.

p.s- So this new place we live in, Wymount Student Family Housing, yea I can SEE the missionaries walking to the temple. I can walk out my front door, down the steps, look to my right, and SEE MISSIONARIES. Honestly we haven't been here that long, but it kills me. I want to run over there and see my little brother. We might have to go take a walk around the temple on Sunday (cause that is what the missionaries do, if you didn't know). AND if you are really confused at this point here is the low down, my little brother is in the MTC, aka The Missionary Training Center. He is working to serve the Lord. and I now live YARDS away from him. It kinda blows my mind most days that I am so close to him but can't go see him. I am SO proud though. what an AMAZING thing he is doing for the Lord.

P.s.s- On another side note, we just learned tonight that church will now be starting at 8AM instead of 12PM, starting this week.

DANG IT!

We are completely done at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
There is not one more assignment we have to turn in at this school.
I honestly have no idea what I am feeling right now.

What an experience.
