Five Amazing Years

Five years and one month ago today, Andrew and I went to the Los Angeles LDS Temple and were married for time and all eternity. It was the greatest day of our lives.

It is amazing to think back on all that we have gone through and where we are today. My love for Andrew has grown so much more than the day we were married. He has my heart for eternity.

Marriage is not easy. It takes work, effort, communication, respect and so so so much more. We have grown so much closer together and have been able to work on all of these traits together, building each other up. I love having Andrew by my side helping me grow and learn. He is my rock in this crazy life.

Looking back on this year we have so much to be grateful for. I love our life. It is amazing.

Happiest Day of my Life

Four years and one month ago today, it truly was the happiest day of my life.
I was sealed to the love of my life for time and all eternity, in the Los Angeles California Temple.

From that moment forward I knew that I could be with Andrew for forever and that made me the happiest I had ever been. And every day after with him is filled with laughter and love. One of my favorite qualities of his would be his humor. He brings me up when I am feeling down and makes an ordinary day extraordinary. I love his excitement and joy for life and all it has to offer. He has made these past four years the best years of my life. I love him and could not ask for a better man to spend all of eternity with.

Looking back on year three..
  • Fall 2013 semester at BYU
  • BYU Football, lots of football games
    • BYU vs. Texas football game. The rain, the cold, the amazing game! It was awesome!
    • The same night the scooter broke down on our way home. Andrew almost broke his foot making sure we didn't die.
  • Many trips up to Rexburg to visit family, haunt at the straw maze and meet our newest nephew Ryder Jay!
  • Thanksgiving in Rexburg with the Sorensen's. Relaxing and Snowboarding.
  • We hit a deer on our way home, after Thanksgiving.
  • Andrew turned 24!!!
  • Went to Kansas for Christmas with the Browns
  • Andrew went to his first KU game!
  • Andrew continued working as a property manager
  • I took an entrepreneurship class at BYU to finish my major off.
  • Lots of BYU Basketball games!
  • In March 2014 we went to California to spend time with the Sorensen's.
  • In April 2014 I graduated from BYU with a bachelor in Family Life.
  • Also in April, actually the week before graduation we moved to Rexburg, Idaho for Andrew to finish off school at BYU-Idaho.
  • Andrew started school again in April 2014. He had a great semester that gave him great ideas of what he wants to do with his major.
  • I started working at Down East and for an online Fabric company in Idaho Falls.
  • We found out we were pregnant at the end of June! AH
  • I turned 23!!!
  • We spent a lot of time with the Brown's when they came out to Idaho for a couple weeks
  • Annual trip to Lake Powell. Amazing as usual.
  • Took a trip to California before fall semester started.
  • Andrew started his final year of school for his Bachelors!
It has been a busy year and I don't expect any less from the year to come. I expect it to be even more busy! But I know we will have so much fun together and laugh the whole way through. There are a lot of changes coming, which make me a little nervous, but I know that together we can handle anything and everything. Our love and laughter will get us through these busy, crazy, beautiful times.

I love you Andrew English Sorensen. I am so happy to be your wife. Thank you for being my love.

Love, alex :)

Loooove

3 years and 1 month ago today.
I married my best friend. my better half. my favorite person in the world.
in the Los Angeles California Temple.

happy happy happy 3 years and one month anniversary to us. Where has the time gone. I can't believe we are already celebrating another anniversary. I feel that time is flying with this guy. I swear that everyday with him just gets better and better. I am so happy to call him mine and celebrate our lives together.

This year has been crazy dealing with being in school and working. We both have our moments of stress and anxiety but I know that with Andrew he really keeps me grounded and puts me back into perspective. He teaches me something new everyday.

I know I take for granted all the time we get to spend together. I hate being apart from him and love spending time with him. These past three years have been the best years of my life. I love him more and more everyday and I LOVE knowing I get to spend eternity with him.

This year for our anniversary, we went to St. George for a weekend get away with our friends Logan and Alex who celebrated their anniversary on September 6th. It was the weekend before school started so we really tried to relax and enjoy this last real summer get away. We had a great time swimming, watching movies, playing games, going shooting and going four-wheeling. We went out to dinner to thai and sushi. It was SO good. We just love that place.

On the actual day of our anniversary, September 3rd, I started my last first day of school. It was a busy day. Andrew had to work. So we were apart for most the day but that evening we went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. We really love that place too. Such good food and even better dessert. We loved celebrating how far we have come, talking about the past, present, and future. I love this life we are living and I am so glad I get to live it with the man of my dreams.

I can't wait to see what this next year has to bring.

So a little look back at the past year..

  • Fall 2012 semester at BYU

  • Carrie Underwood Concert

Our second honeymoon

It has been one of those months. There is so much great stuff going on and I honestly probably could find the time to blog. But have I? Nope. Its not even that I haven't wanted to. I have just been finding other ways to spend my time. Like talking with Andrew more. or sewing one more thing so that I stay far ahead in my class. Or just sitting and relaxing and letting my brain take a much needed break for a while.

School was out and then we started spring semester. I am taking one class and doing my internship and Andrew is taking two classes and working full time. I feel like we shouldn't be that busy, but we are. It is the nice kind of busy, most of the time. Doing things I enjoy and spending my days thinking up new projects. I'm trying to cherish these moments. They seem so crazy but they are really so simple.

Now a little look back at what has been happening around here.

After school got out for winter semester we headed to St. George. Just the mister and I this time.
It was like a little second honeymoon. Just the two of us for three days. We rode bikes and motorcycles and swam a lot. Talked about life and watched a whole lot of duck dynasty. It was the ultimate relaxation and do absolutely nothing with no responsibilities kind of weekend. perfection.

I even had my first real sushi.. you know not just the stuff you get in the refrigerated section of costco but the realish dealish. and let me tell you it was FANTASTIC. we have already gone again and it was even better the second time. The best part about it is that it was a thai and sushi place so I got best of both words. yum yum yum.
It was hard to come home after such a great weekend and leave the relaxation behind. But it was good to get back to reality and conquer the stress that was hanging over us. We gave our long awaited talks at church on family history work. Then the next day I started my internship and Andrew headed back to work and the day after that we both started class. Oh the joooooy of our life.

Stay tuned for more updates on what has been going on in our life.

Day of Love

How can you look at that face and not love it??? Everyone, this is going to be a mushy post, I will make it quick, but just to warn you, if you really must stop reading now. But you will miss my awesomeness :))

how could I see that lovely box of chocolates at the store and not get it for him?
If I was to ever get into fantasy football or any fantasy sport for that matter he would be my #1. And he always will be.
Valentines day. oh me oh my. It is a good day. BUT I must say I like to express my love for this guy all of the time and not just on a special holiday. but still how can you not celebrate the day of LOOOVE.
I have decided that I want to decorate like crazy for this holiday. This year I was pretty proud of myself. I made a banner and everything!! Woop Woop! and then I had a TON of those window stickers and put them everywhere. Andrew really loved this touch as cupid was placed on the microwave and is still there at this moment because either 1) I am too lazy to take them down or 2) I just love this holiday too much to take the love away. Lets go with the latter.

It was still a pretty normal chillaxy(ha) day for us. It was my day to sleep in because I didn't have class until noon (hallelujah), so that was glorious in and of itself. Unfortunately the mister did have to work at 8am sooooo he was kinda out of luck on that one. Sorry lover. But I did have a test that day so I guess we were even on that scale of things. So after my glorious sleeping I woke up to find these two beauties in the kitchen.
This guy... oh man.
That watch is KILLER if you didn't know. It has a mother of pearl facing. Sometimes I just like to say that.. Mother of Pearl. I picture myself yelling at someone saying that and then laughing because it sounds so funny. BUT isn't it just stunning. didn't he do amaaaze. and I was pretty sure we were doing cheapo gifts this year... like as in $15 in chocolates. I would have been happy with that.
But he did good. really really good.

We went to dinner at this Thai place we both love which is awesome because we all know how obsessed with thai food I am. Yea, then we came home and ate chocolate covered strawberries because those are both our favorites.

It was a great day. He is an amazing man. And I really can't tell you how happy I am to be by his side for eternity. He keeps me on my toes. I am laughing constantly. and I know we can get through anything together.
He is my best friend in the entire world and I love spending every moment I possibly can together.
And honestly it is a lot of time lately and I LOVE IT. Sometimes I think about the future.. like when there are little chillians running around and he has a 8-5 or 6 or 7 or 8 o'clock job and we barely see each other, yea that is when I really really truly treasure these days we have right now.

Okay I will stop with the mushy but I am so glad he is my Valentine.
Hope you all had a wonderful day of looove, like a month ago :)

HAPPY

2 years and 1 month ago today.
I married my best friend in the Los Angeles Temple.
and it has only gotten better and better since.
Day One
Happppy 2 years and one month Anniversary to US!
Last year I didn't write about our anniversary until October 3rd so I decided I should do the same this year. What a great tradition. and What a year we have had!! I can't believe we have been married for two years. One of the first things Andrew said about our two years was that that is what a mission feels like. and it made me think of all those people who left for their missions when we got married... they are all COMING HOME! my gosh I have been married for as long as a mission is. and really that doesn't seem very long but for me it is. and for all those missionaries, it is a long time. SO way to go missionaries and way to go us!!
One year

It has been one heck of an amazing year. What can I say.. things just keep getting better and better with this guy. I just keep falling more and more in love with him. I really never knew what people meant when they said that their love is stronger than the day they married. The day I married Andrew I thought I loved him to the extreme but today I can honestly say I love him more than the day I married him.  Just think of the song by Brad Paisley, And I thought I loved you then. Yup thats how I feel. and really those words are exactly how it happened for us. I seriously could not stop looking at Andrew that Sunday at church when I met him. and now he is my whole life.
WOW crazy how things like this happen.

Enjoying the simple little things.

It's October 1st. Happy day.
Guys I just thought you should know..
School is hard but more wonderful than I could ask for.
and work is hard but has its benefits.

Life can be hard but wonderful at the same time. You ever realize that?
I absolutely love my life. and right now I could not be any more happy.
I have this amazing husband. and this awesome apartment. and I go to a great school. Andrew has a great job. we have food on the table and a nice warm bed to sleep in. We both have amazing families. We are both healthy. and I can see.
what could seriously be better. But there are days that I really have to remind myself of that.

Instead of enjoying the little things, I stress over the little things.
I am realizing that life is simple and people just complicate it. I am realizing that I should be more concerned with the eternal things of life, like my family.

I get stressed out way too much. and I am trying to figure out why. So I am starting to slow down and really think about the reason I do things.
Just one person, loooking good in a tux, that I am thankful for.

Life is for living and enjoying the simple everyday things not stressing over it.

Good friends that make me laugh oh so much.
beautiful new shoes.
Life is beautiful. Take a look at the blessings you have all around you every day. I know that it really makes me happy.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures of things I am thankful for.
love,alex&andrew

ps. looong story, but after 2 years of being married, I finally was able to change my drivers license to Alexandria Sorensen. oh and I am one of the newest residents of Utah. yayyy :)

Lake Powell 2012

Today is all about a beautiful thing called Lake Powell
and no it is not just a place. It is a thing. a beautiful beautiful thing.
This was my third year going to Lake Powell with the Sorensen's and it was awesome.
Exactly what I needed to refresh and prepare for another round of school!
This year it was the Sorensen's, the Turnbull's, the Rahn's, and Julie, and Val.
It was the best way you can spend seven days.

I made Richard some shorts. He always jokes about me making him some so I surprised him the first night of Powell with these :)

Andrew's first run of the year

Logan ready for his first run

In all of the time the Sorensen's and Turnbull's have gone to Rainbow bridge they have never been able to go under the bridge. and of course this was only my second time going but it was really COOL! so we took lots of pictures of course.

It was such a wonderful week. I feel so blessed and grateful to be able to do these fun things and spend time with some amazing people. This is a beautiful earth we live on and I love being able to spend a week engulfed in its beauty. God really has blessed us.
Here is to a great week and first days of school at BYU and work.
