Five Amazing Years

Five years and one month ago today, Andrew and I went to the Los Angeles LDS Temple and were married for time and all eternity. It was the greatest day of our lives.

It is amazing to think back on all that we have gone through and where we are today. My love for Andrew has grown so much more than the day we were married. He has my heart for eternity.

Marriage is not easy. It takes work, effort, communication, respect and so so so much more. We have grown so much closer together and have been able to work on all of these traits together, building each other up. I love having Andrew by my side helping me grow and learn. He is my rock in this crazy life.

Looking back on this year we have so much to be grateful for. I love our life. It is amazing.

Happiest Day of my Life

Four years and one month ago today, it truly was the happiest day of my life.
I was sealed to the love of my life for time and all eternity, in the Los Angeles California Temple.

From that moment forward I knew that I could be with Andrew for forever and that made me the happiest I had ever been. And every day after with him is filled with laughter and love. One of my favorite qualities of his would be his humor. He brings me up when I am feeling down and makes an ordinary day extraordinary. I love his excitement and joy for life and all it has to offer. He has made these past four years the best years of my life. I love him and could not ask for a better man to spend all of eternity with.

Looking back on year three..
  • Fall 2013 semester at BYU
  • BYU Football, lots of football games
    • BYU vs. Texas football game. The rain, the cold, the amazing game! It was awesome!
    • The same night the scooter broke down on our way home. Andrew almost broke his foot making sure we didn't die.
  • Many trips up to Rexburg to visit family, haunt at the straw maze and meet our newest nephew Ryder Jay!
  • Thanksgiving in Rexburg with the Sorensen's. Relaxing and Snowboarding.
  • We hit a deer on our way home, after Thanksgiving.
  • Andrew turned 24!!!
  • Went to Kansas for Christmas with the Browns
  • Andrew went to his first KU game!
  • Andrew continued working as a property manager
  • I took an entrepreneurship class at BYU to finish my major off.
  • Lots of BYU Basketball games!
  • In March 2014 we went to California to spend time with the Sorensen's.
  • In April 2014 I graduated from BYU with a bachelor in Family Life.
  • Also in April, actually the week before graduation we moved to Rexburg, Idaho for Andrew to finish off school at BYU-Idaho.
  • Andrew started school again in April 2014. He had a great semester that gave him great ideas of what he wants to do with his major.
  • I started working at Down East and for an online Fabric company in Idaho Falls.
  • We found out we were pregnant at the end of June! AH
  • I turned 23!!!
  • We spent a lot of time with the Brown's when they came out to Idaho for a couple weeks
  • Annual trip to Lake Powell. Amazing as usual.
  • Took a trip to California before fall semester started.
  • Andrew started his final year of school for his Bachelors!
It has been a busy year and I don't expect any less from the year to come. I expect it to be even more busy! But I know we will have so much fun together and laugh the whole way through. There are a lot of changes coming, which make me a little nervous, but I know that together we can handle anything and everything. Our love and laughter will get us through these busy, crazy, beautiful times.

I love you Andrew English Sorensen. I am so happy to be your wife. Thank you for being my love.

Love, alex :)

Recapping Weeks 15-19

We have a little mango baby!

We just hit 19 weeks today. Its crazy and awesome and I am getting really excited. Next week we get to find out if you are a boy or a girl in there. I CAN'T wait! I think it might really start to make it real... It still hasn't really hit me.. I'm not sure if it really will until I have to go push baby out of me and then get to take you him/her home! AH

I can't wait to be a mom though. I have wanted to be a mom my whole life and it is finally becoming real. Thank you baby, it is all because of you.

We have had a pretty good week, a little more lax for me which has been nice but a little rough for Andrew getting back into the swing of things in school. Last week on Wednesday I got off work at 2pm and then headed straight to St. George. I had never driven that far by myself and I was actually pretty nervous about it. The length of it, the boringness of it and the being pregnant part. But it turned out okay. Definitely long, my butt and legs were sore and achy by the time I got there but I found things to listen to and people to talk on the phone so that helped!

I went down because Lisa and I signed up for a serging conference for the weekend. The conference was awesome!! I was expecting to get a little sleepy and have a hard time being in class all day but it really was great. I loved learning old and new things and working on AMAZING sergers! They were to die for. It was also really fun hanging out and bonding with Lisa for the weekend. We had a lot of fun talking sewing, crafting, and fabrics!

The week before (aka the first week of September) Andrew and I went to California for the week. It was the BEST! Such a good trip, full of relaxation but also adventure and seeing new things. We were there during our anniversary so we got a chance to spend the day together exploring LA.

We first headed to the California Science Center to mainly see the space shuttle Endeavour, that was just put there and they are building a million dollar facility for. It is HUGE! and awesome. You can't even comprehend the fact that it has been to space and back multiple times! We got to learn all about it and then walk around it and see it in all its hugeness.

We then headed to the Santa Monica Pier. I absolutely love that place. and it holds so many good memories for us. I have always loved ferris wheels and this one is just perfection. You have the beach, the ocean, the sunset, the city, and not to mention the amazing man that was sitting next to me! The day before our wedding we took wedding pictures all day long. One spot that I had to have pictures done at was the pier, on the ferris wheel. So on our anniversary I thought it would be fun to go ride the ferris wheel again, since we had not ridden it since our wedding. Oh my what four years has brought us to!

Then we headed to our favorite restaurant, Gladstones.  I am not a fish loving person but I LOVE clam chowder and they have the BEST clam chowder you will ever eat. and you get this delicious bread to dip in it so I was a pretty happy girl. Not to mention the view of the ocean that is absolutely stunning. Andrew likes to get a yummy fish and I am pretty sure he leaves drooling still because of how good it is.

Of course we then had to go get some dessert so we headed to BJ's where they have the yummiest pazookies (pizza cookies). We were stuffed and exhausted by the time we were done and heading home. It was a perfect day together.

On the other days we were in California we did a little shopping both clothing and fabric, we went to the beach and did a little body boarding, we went to a Dodger's baseball game and saw some amazing fireworks, and just relaxed and hung out with family. What better way to spend a week!

Since being back I am just working working working. and Andrew is back into the grind of things at school. I think it is going to be a crazy semester for him. He has also been working at the straw maze and helping get things ready before they opened and now helping at night. He is SO excited to start haunting next weekend! He got his new mask in yesterday and I am not sure he is going to be able to wait a week to scare with it. The mask is pretty awesome.. it is VERY real looking which makes it really creepy. He is going to do an awesome job. He made a video for the haunted forest and it turned out really good! He is just so talented in so many things. I am so proud of him and all the hard work he does.
The MASK!
Ryder didn't know what to think..
our poor children. haha

I just love that guy. even in a creepy mask.

I have been feeling great. Still just tired and more sciatic nerve and lower back pain. I am pretty sure that is going to last forever. I feel that the sciatic nerve pain is just getting worse. Now just standing I can feel it hurting. and then bending and moving a lot just makes it worse. I'm finding ways to make it better, so far it is just lots and lots of stretching. But I feel really lucky with how easy pregnancy has been.

I am definitely popping more, however now I feel that it just looks like I have gained weight in the belly, not that there is a baby in there. I am enjoying the smaller belly while I can because I know soon enough I will be huge. Keep growing healthy and strong in there little one! We love you so so so much.

Hopefully I can start updating more and keep a good record of this amazing, beautiful process we get to go through. Stay tuned for more!

love,alex&andrew

P.S- We met Youtube stars, icons, and role models Shay Carl and Colette. We have watched them for five years and he is the one who inspired me to start my own channel! We were shocked we ran into them and a little star struck.

I swear that everyday with him just gets better and better. I am so happy to call him mine and celebrate our lives together.

This year has been crazy dealing with being in school and working. We both have our moments of stress and anxiety but I know that with Andrew he really keeps me grounded and puts me back into perspective. He teaches me something new everyday.

I know I take for granted all the time we get to spend together. I hate being apart from him and love spending time with him. These past three years have been the best years of my life. I love him more and more everyday and I LOVE knowing I get to spend eternity with him.

This year for our anniversary, we went to St. George for a weekend get away with our friends Logan and Alex who celebrated their anniversary on September 6th. It was the weekend before school started so we really tried to relax and enjoy this last real summer get away. We had a great time swimming, watching movies, playing games, going shooting and going four-wheeling. We went out to dinner to thai and sushi. It was SO good. We just love that place.

On the actual day of our anniversary, September 3rd, I started my last first day of school. It was a busy day. Andrew had to work. So we were apart for most the day but that evening we went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. We really love that place too. Such good food and even better dessert. We loved celebrating how far we have come, talking about the past, present, and future. I love this life we are living and I am so glad I get to live it with the man of my dreams.

HAPPY

2 years and 1 month ago today.
I married my best friend in the Los Angeles Temple.
and it has only gotten better and better since.
Day One
Happppy 2 years and one month Anniversary to US!
Last year I didn't write about our anniversary until October 3rd so I decided I should do the same this year. What a great tradition. and What a year we have had!! I can't believe we have been married for two years. One of the first things Andrew said about our two years was that that is what a mission feels like. and it made me think of all those people who left for their missions when we got married... they are all COMING HOME! my gosh I have been married for as long as a mission is. and really that doesn't seem very long but for me it is. and for all those missionaries, it is a long time. SO way to go missionaries and way to go us!!
One year

It has been one heck of an amazing year. What can I say.. things just keep getting better and better with this guy. I just keep falling more and more in love with him. I really never knew what people meant when they said that their love is stronger than the day they married. The day I married Andrew I thought I loved him to the extreme but today I can honestly say I love him more than the day I married him.  Just think of the song by Brad Paisley, And I thought I loved you then. Yup thats how I feel. and really those words are exactly how it happened for us. I seriously could not stop looking at Andrew that Sunday at church when I met him. and now he is my whole life.
WOW crazy how things like this happen.

A Wonderful Labor Day

School started. Andrew started working and all of the awesome events that we have been looking forward to are starting to slip by. Where does the time go?? It is just crazy to me how fast time goes one moment but then other times I can't wait for weeks to go by and they go as slow as possible. I guess that is life and we just need to LOVE it. and we do. life is great right now. really really great. (I think I am in a good mood..ha)

Thursday the 30th we went to our very first BYU football game of the season. It was wonderful. I am falling in love with this school.

Wowoooo so Labor day weekend was great. Relaxing but a BALL. Andrew and I were definitely ready for a little break after our first week of school and work (Andrew especially). Saturday we got some much needed sleep and then I went to a bridal shower for this cute girl named Alex. Small world I know. and more on that cuteness later :)

Sunday we went to our new ward for the first time. eeek. it was good. other than the 8am thing we are still trying to deal with. guys, it is hard. I think Heavenly Father is testing every single person in that ward asking us to be there that early. But I like it already. The girls all seem really nice and I feel like Andrew is liking it too. This week we found out that two people from my stake back home are in our ward. yup small world again. it is fun being in a ward with so many kiddos. I like that its not just dead quiet in the meetings :)

Do you see the temple??
Sunday afternoon we went over to the Turnbulls for Sunday dinner. we like this group of people a lot. and they are our only friends right now ;) ha so we hung out with them and had fun. and at 10:00pm we decided we would hike the Y. and the reason being was for Andrew & I's two year anniversary which started at midnight!  Now I had never done it so I was pretty up for it and excited and so was everyone else. It was a beautiful night. But man is that hike hard. maybe cause I am so outta shape! the whole thing us up hill but once you get to the top it is magnificent. I guess I never realized that the whole thing was up hill..I don't know why cause it is in the middle of a mountain..ha

Needless to say it was awesome. I am falling in LOVE with this city.

Well Monday was our anniversary and because we are starving college students we had a pretty relaxed but fun day. In the morning we went over to the Turnbulls because Amanda decided to paint her new car. Its an old little guy but we made it new and awesome! We took some time trying to get the right base color and painted that on, which is a beautiful sky blue I might add, and then we had the real fun!

We flung tons of different colors of paint ALL OVER it.
AWESOME, right? yes! it was so much fun and I am pretty jealous now of this hot rod she has. oh and did I mention the door handles, rims, side trim, and windshield wipers are GOLD. yes she is now the cooolest kid at school. or at least in my book she is :)

After this lovely adventure we met up with Justina, Curtis, and the babies. They were visiting his family that weekend in Layton and it was a perfect time to come see us as well and go to Cabela's. I loved seeing my two little boys. and my sister and brother in law of course.

THIS FACE. AH I caught him at the perfect moment.
So we played with them for a while and then went to dinner at Tokyo. yup we went to Tokyo. But really its one of those places they cook in front of you. I had never gone and it was a perfect day to try something new and awesome. Of course I loooved it. and so did everyone else. Taeden especially loved the fire being right in front of him and all the crazy tricks the chef was doing. Then we decided we needed some really good dessert so we headed to The Cheesecake Factory. Oh my I am droooling just thinking about it. YUM yum YUM.
Future hunter like daddy?

After saying our goodbyes to the babies and adults Andrew and I ended the night at the movies where we saw Nitro Circus. It was actually awesome. and I will admit I loved it. and of course andrew did :)

Obviously it was an awesome weekend. it was hard to go back to school and work but it was a great break. Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend two weeks ago :)

End of Sweet Summer Time

Here is the adventures of our last week in California in August going into September.
We celebrate Anna and Jordan getting married.
Had a bonfire on the beach.
Had our one year anniversary.
hit an owl.....
and just hung out with some amazing people.
I love them all. I have loved getting to know all of Andrews friends and how they have welcomed me into their lives and are now some of my best friends. its great. I love having this group of people to hang out with. They are all so amazing and fun.
These first pictures are of our bonfire on the beach. It was a little cold but so fun.
We were serenaded by the beautiful Lindy playing the guitar and roasted some jumbo marshmallows.

Andrew is really great at taking pictures with me :)

Here are some pictures from after we got out of the temple.

On our way home from hanging out at our friends house we hit an owl.
It was so SAD! Andrew picked it up and got it out of the road.
It was still alive so we hope it flew away once we left.

Loook at how big he is!

Andrew with one of his anniversary presents!

We love you all!
Enjoy this wonderful and beautiful weekend :)
