Thanksgiving 2012

All weekend I was thinking oh I should blog about Thanksgiving and what not but I kept thinking ah no I'm not in the mood yet.. Well here it is Monday and I should be doing all my lovely homework and studying and what does my mind say, LET'S BLOG! yippie. SO I gave into my mind and decided okay lets procrastinate a little more and blog.

Guys, Thanksgiving was great. It was relaxing but crazy and fun. We played, maybe a little too hard, cough andrew cough, but it was great and hard to come back but at the same time I was excited to come back and finish the semester because then it is CHRISTMAS! Oh happppy day.

Well this year we went to St. George for Thanksgiving. Andrew's family was there. There was his parents and brother, Aaron and two of his Aunts and their husbands, then 2 cousins and their spouses and four second cousins. did i get that right... ha oh well. Lets just say it was fun to have a variety of people and different ages around. Usually the youngest person around is Aaron who is 17 but this time there was two younger boys and I think they added a little spice to the group. I feel that they kept us on our toes!

Do you guys know about geocashing? well one of the boys loves it and was telling us all about it one night and Andrew was getting pretty interested... well I will admit so was I. It is such an interesting concept. So the next day we went and found one and then another and that totally hooked Andrew. I think it is so cool that you can find them all over the world! And if you don't know what it is.. talk to andrew or do a little research :)

While we were there we did a little shopping, went on many motorcycle rides, played with our niece Haizlee, watched movies, played basketball, went and explored where our cousin Katie works aka the ambulance.. place, hiked in Zion, got a sweet deal on movies at BlackFriday, and ATE a lot! great great great :)

I am so thankful for this amazing life that I am living. When I take a step back and really see the amazing opportunities and experiences that I have had and that I am having, I can't help but think wow this is a great life.
I am grateful for the wonderful husband that I have and the life we have built together in the past two years. I can't believe where it has taken us and I can't wait to see where and what happens next.
I am grateful for a healthy body. I feel that with all my experiences with health, I can't seem to express enough, how amazing our bodies are and how extremely grateful I am that I am a healthy(okay to an extent) person. I think that with being grateful for Heavenly Father for this body, I have a responsibility to take care of it and do all that I can to keep it healthy and make it even better!
I am grateful for education. For schools, books, and the ability to learn. There are so many wonderful things in this world and I love learning about them. I am grateful I have the opportunity to go to such an incredible university and learn from these intelligent professors.
I am grateful for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It has made me who I am today and shaped my life to be the wonderful thing that it is. I am grateful that I know that Jesus Christ lives, that he loves me, and that he died for me so that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father again. I am grateful that I was married in a place and with the authority so that Andrew and I can be together for eternity. I am grateful for the missionaries who sacrifice two years of their lives to share this gospel. Especially for my little brother.
I am grateful for a a wonderful, loving family who supports me and loves me.
I am grateful for this time of year. For the love, humility, and service it brings.

I could go on and on but I need to stop somewhere.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. And a wonderful week.

GWL & SG

I had forgotten to post this for the past month. Mostly because I had to narrow down the pictures and then figure out how to share them. In the final days of being in Kansas we spent two days at this wonderful place called the Great Wolf Lodge. It is the greatest Lodge to stay at in the Kansas City Area. They have an indoor water park with a couple slides and pools and huge playground. AWESOME! It has become a tradition, kind of, in our family to go there every year after christmas. Great in the winter when you need something new to do outside of your house.

What a great play place for young and old
I love it. I wish we could go back right now.
Rexburg is way too cold. and windy. and BORING. can I just tell you how excited I am to leave???
really really excited. I need more. more. more.

At the last minute this past weekend we decided to travel down to St. George. What a GREAT decision that was. We saw the SUN! WOAH. I have missed that wonderful thing. and when we do have it in Rexburg it is way too cold to enjoy it. I love having a little break from our little apartment. Coming back was hard. Literally. Of course a storm hit so we had to go slow and drive through lots of snow. If you know that drive you know that it is really sketchy when snowy. I was nervous to say the lest. but it all worked out great. Heavenly Father is definitely watching out for us. in a lot of things. Now back to cold, snow, school, and normal everyday life. But sometimes that is nice too :)
How was your weekend?

p.s- We just ordered a juicer. I am super duper excited to start using it. stay tuned for updates :)

Christmas in the Land of Oz

Christmas. oh what a wonderful day.
I think i like the holiday season more than the actual day.. although this year it felt different.
The whole day was simply wonderful. I actually really like Christmas on Sundays cause then I feel like I really spent the day thinking about what it is really about and not just the gifts.
We like to wake up early in my house. This year I was so surprised to find that the little children let us sleep in until 9! WOAH. what a deal. and I think that is just because we didn't want to wake up until Taeden did. perfection. Now here is the annual sitting on the stairs waiting to go down picture.
Thats right we don't get to go down the stairs until everyone is up including the parents so they can get this lovely photo every year. and then we run.. yes literally run. to the living room.
(this year it might have been a nice walk for the oldies.)

we look great in the morning don't you think?

i love these photos of the kids holding up their pj's. so adorable.

the after church photo!

What a great day. It was so nice to be surrounded by family and to see how exciting it was for the little kids. the older you get I think it looses its excitement but with little kids around it brings it all back. I can't wait to have our own little ones waiting for santa to come. We were spoiled this year. I think i may have to show you one of my goodies later on..once I get it back. so stay tuned for that. I also got this beautiful point and shoot camera. What a beauty it is. So much nicer than my old one. I was thrilled. I have taken a few pictures and lots of videos with it. Andrew was happy to get these awesome head phones and a shaver. welcome to adulthood.

How was your christmas? it is hard to go back to reality after a break like that.

back in time.

After not posting for half of the month of November I decided to just have my own no post november.
We were so busy all month and this month is no different so you all are lucky I am posting :)
But man I am getting so behind in showing our awesome pictures of our adventures.
SOOO I am making time to show you are life. Cause it is AWESOME :)

To enjoy the nice weather before the freezing winter hit we went to the BYU-Idaho Apple orchard and picked apples. I thought it would be a fun activity and we would end up being able to make a bunch of yummy apple stuff and so we went. I had fun taking pictures, enjoying the awesome weather, and picking yummy apples. Andrew really liked figuring out all the different types of apples and what they are used for. We got about five pounds and STILL to this day have apples. I made a pie..and baked apples..and um I really can't remember but it was good. I might have to make another pie again. they are so good. I love apple pie!
On that same beautiful afternoon we road our bikes to the nature park, fed the ducks, and just enjoyed the beautiful fall weather and colors. I LOVE fall it is so pretty!! I am starting to miss it a lot as the freezing cold has hit...

Can you tell it was a BYU game day?

Life is pretty great right now. I hope to get caught up on updating soon.
I am starting to realize how much I need to do, so prepare yourselves!
These are the last two weeks of school so it might take me a little bit but I am going to do it!
Happy Decemember. I love this month. I love the Christmas Spirit. Or as we should all say the Spirit of Christ that is present. I think that is my favorite part of Christmas. The Joy and happiness that is present and the sweet spirit of giving that everyone has. I feel like people are nicer..most of the time.
It just makes me so happy. I hate when it is over because I feel like I lose that sweet spirit but I am realizing we can feel that way year round. That is my goal for next year. I want that sweet spirit in our home year round. I hope you all try to have the spirit of Christ in your home this holiday season.
We love you all.
