A perfect Memorial Day

St. George is our weekend get away. When we need to relax and have some good old down time that is  where we head. We fill our time with relaxation, swimming, soaking up the sun, eating lots of food that is probably not so good for us, and exploring the great outdoors.
Memorial Day weekend was no exception. We swam a lot and just enjoyed our time away from all responsibilities. When it was time to come back we had a hard time..like really hard. We were going to go home on Monday night and then we decided not to leave until Tuesday morning and then we pushed it all the way to Tuesday night, after considering waking up at 5 in the morning on Wednesday.
We were having a good time and did not want it to end but we did have to face the responsibilities at some point, right? What made it even more fun was having our friends Logan and Alex come down with us for a couple days. We played, talked, and ate a lot. It was like we were kids again playing marco polo in the pool for a good chunk of time!

We found some sweet noodles at Walmart!!
Oh the morning of Memorial Day we went for a ride to find the Arizona border and go exploring. It was a warm day but the breeze was feeling nice and it was fun to out to the open and see a part of St. George we had never really been before. We took a few dirt roads and found some pretty cool stuff!

First we got to the Arizona border and of course I had to take some pictures of us being in two places at once. Then we kept driving down the road and come to this hill of what looked like broken glass to us but after we stopped and got out and really looked at it we realized that it was not glass at all. It was like a rock that was white/clearish and SO COOL! You can't really tell in the pictures but it was shinning so brightly in the sun and there was TONS of it!

We almost left to go home but we realized there was a pit of it! It was all in the ground and on the walls. It was pretty much like we had just found hidden treasure. It was so cool looking and sparkling in the sun light. Too bad it wasn't diamonds or man would we be rich right now!

Later we realized it wasn't that much of a secret to anyone else that it was there. But to us it was treasure and really cool. I am sure we will head back out there the next time we are in St. George.
That afternoon we spent more time swimming and relaxing and then we barbecued with family. Which was so YUMMY! I really love a good chicken or steak or corn on the cob cooked on the grill and then you can't forget some watermelon for on the side! It was really a great summer day and weekend that was filled with good people, good food and lots of good old fun! Hope you all had a good day too!

love,alex&andrew

p.s- tonight we are going to the fair and I am realllllly excited. I love the fair.
