Hello Baby - Week 23

How far along: 23 Weeks
Gender: BOY!!
Weight gain: around 7lbs.
Maternity clothes: Lots of loose shirts since I still feel that I just look chubby and not pregnant so its been hard to dress some days. I'm excited its getting colder so I can wear all my sweaters and wintery clothes. haha
Stretch marks: I think I got a few new ones.. uh oh.
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Sleep is good but some days I wake up with a really big headache. or feeling like I got hit by a truck which really sucks.
Best moment this week: My mom got into town on Wednesday so we have been hanging out with family a lot. On Saturday we convinced my mom to go to The Straw Maze (where Andrew works) with Emily and I. It was AWESOME. and hilarious. Emily is super easy to scare and my mom was pretty funny to listen to and I am sure I was looking pretty funny. At one point they each pulled me in two different directions! haha I am sure we were pretty comical. But it was so much fun and I am so glad we got to go together.
Miss anything: I miss going to the gym. in provo. with yoga classes. and zumba classes. and personal TV's...haha. But really I actually miss that. And yes I can go to the gym here in Rexburg but we have been so busy and I come home and my body does not want to move any more, it moves and lifts enough at work. Maybe I can convince myself to start doing yoga at home. I am sure it will help a TON!
Movement: Lots of movement! I can feel him so much more now and I really feel that it just keeps getting stronger and stronger. I can't imagine what it will be like 10 weeks from now! Today I think I felt him actually kicking my bladder. It was the strangest feeling. It's cool to feel him move but so weird. haha my insides just aren't too sure what is going on. I am pretty sure I also saw my stomach move when he kicked me. I was hanging out at Justina's and we had just put the boys to bed and after much noise and rambunctiousness I sat on the couch and was feeling him move a TON and some HUGE kicks which full on shook my belly. Such a crazy and cool thing to experience!
Cravings: I am always crazing Mexican food. This week I really want it. I think I might have to convince Andrew to go to Costa Vida with me asap. I am also still loving lots of sweets.
Queasy or sick: No sickness. My head has been hurting a lot more than before. Almost like a dull achyness and it doesn't go away easily. Acid reflux is getting more and more prominent too. I am sure that will keep getting worse as baby grows. I am just glad there is medicine to help control it.
Looking forward to: I didn't get a niece this past week but hopefully in the next couple days.. like hopefully tomorrow but we will wait and see. I can't wait to meet her. I wonder if it will make me really want baby boy here, because right now I am more nervous than ready to have him here..obviously I'm excited but ya know its nerve wreaking.
We also have a doctors appointment this week which is fun just getting to hear baby boys heartbeat and getting an update on how he looks in there.
23 week belly

We went to a Halloween event for little ones it was a hot day but full of cuteness!
I thought this was the coolest costume. The headless horseman.
Then we went to the park for a bit. This one is the pregnant ladies swinging ;)
Little boys on the playground.
The ladies and Mr. Tickles - It was SO much fun.
I love this guy. (fyi this is my husband) Have you been to the maze or forest?
On Sunday we got to see cousins we haven't seen in two years and we made all the kids jump/dog pile on Cameron
They are the cutest!
Pile on the couch.
It has been a fun week with family and I know it will just get better and better with my family and Andrews family who will be here in a couple days too! Parttty in Rexburg. Andrew is busy busy busy with school and work. Once he gets through this week I think it will really help him to stress less and help me get some more time with him. I need a good date night with my man.

I love you my little squish. Keep moving and grooving in there, mama loves feeling you.

love,alex

Hello Baby - 22 Weeks

How far along: 22 Weeks
Gender: BOY!!
Weight gain: around 7lbs.
Maternity clothes: Stretchy pants are awesome. I just got a pair from walmart and they are the greatest things ever. I want to go buy every style and multiples of them.
Stretch marks: Okay I'm going to be honest. I already had stretch marks from puberty.. so I guess yes I have them but I don't think there are new ones but then again who knows now.
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Sleep has been off and on but mostly good. I enjoy sleeping as much as possible :)
Best moment this week: I had a four day weekend. It was lovely. and I got to spend the day with Andrew on Friday. Now it was only running errands but we don't get much time to hang out these days so that was good enough for me. I love that guy and all the hard work he is doing.
Miss anything: I miss Andrew having Friday and Saturday nights off. But I can't complain because he loves scaring and its a job that he is getting paid for. In two weeks it will all end and we will be back to normal but for now thats what I miss.
Movement: Lots of movement now. Andrew felt baby kick (FINALLY). I was really wanting Andrew to feel him and he did and it was so exciting. I think it made it all real for him. and it is definitely making it more real for me. When Andrew felt him he got huge eyes and gasped and got so excited. It was adorable and everything I had been waiting for. He has felt him a few times since and loves it. Feeling him move is the craziest and yet coolest thing.
Cravings: I really want caramel apples. pretty sure I will have to make some this week. probably with my mom and Taeden and Caleb.
Queasy or sick: No sickness. Lots of acid reflux this week. like every night. I was pretty used to it before pregnancy so thats not a huge deal. I have also been feeling tightness/cramping. Legs and butt are still killers. Today I was walking through Walmart and had to full on slow down and pause before my leg full on gave out on me. I am sure I looked like a hobbling/limping old lady.
Looking forward to: I get a new niece this week!!! YAY! Baby is getting a cousin. They will be about four months apart. how fun will that be! I can't wait to meet the little cutie and make her all sorts of cute stuff.

Here we come week 23! I love you little guy and all your rambunctious, kicking me all over, making me sleepy self. You are awesome.

love, alex

Hello Baby - Week 21

How far along: 21 weeks!
Gender: BOY!!
Weight gain: probably around 5 lbs.
Maternity clothes: No, just loose shirts. I work for a fabric company pulling orders and shipping and such. I get to wear whatever I want sooo I have just been wearing sweats, t-shirts, and really anything that I am comfortable in. Its awesome and makes getting ready in the morning reallllly easy.
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Sleep has been really good this week. I just want to sleep a lot. aka all the time. I look forward to the days where I get to sleep in and/or take naps. Sadly it is partially what gets me through the work day.
Best moment this week: No more work at Down East which means I don't work the weekends or anymore Sundays. That was the first time I have ever had to work on Sundays and I really hated it! And I rarely had days off, it was maybe once a week, if I was lucky. So it's really nice being able to relax a little more and I have been able to craft so much more! YAY Andrew is working at the straw maze a few times a week so I am just home with not too much to do other than cleaning and watching tv and I get sick of that easily. So I have been making some baby items like the cutest little baby shoes and then I made a video and a cute autumn sign. I love crafting. lots.
Miss anything: I miss going to sporting events. We have watched lots of games on TV but I miss having that option of going out and going to a football, basketball, volleyball or whatever game. But I am really looking forward to basketball season.
Movement: I felt an actual kick.. or punch, who knows what it really was but I had my hand on my stomach and was just relaxing on the couch and I felt a full on kick like he was saying hey get your hand off of me. It was SO cool. It happened again a little later. I can't wait for Andrew to feel him. I keep having him try but its hard to know when to do it and it's not like he can just sit around with his hand on my belly all the time. But hopefully soon he will be able to. Still lots of fluttering, especially after I eat.
Cravings: I really wanted spaghetti with red sauce and garlic bread the other night.. I never made it but I'm pretty sure it will have to be on the menu this week. I am also wanting ice cream a lot more, which is weird because in the beginning of pregnancy I did not enjoy sweets/desserts very much and now I am wanting ice cream.
Queasy or sick: No sickness, lots of tightness on my lower belly - it's definitely starting to grow - and still lots of back and leg pain so I have started using the heating pad a lot more.
Looking forward to: Getting my hair done for the first time since... probably December.. woops. I actually really hate getting my hair done, so much that I put it off 10 months.. ha I usually see how long I can go without getting reallllly annoyed by it. and it has finally happened. So hopefully this lady is quick and does a good job. crossing my fingers!

A bump is starting to form!
His first shoes and first project I made after finding out baby is a boy!!  :)
Time feels like it is going way too quickly and also far too slow. Christmas is just around the corner and then baby will be here! AH gets my heart racing!

I loooove youuu so little man.

love, alex :)

Hello Baby - Week 20

How far along: 20 weeks, Half way there! crrrrazy
Gender: Baby is a BOY!!
Weight gain: around 4-5 lbs.
Maternity clothes: I just got this belly band thingy so that I can leave my pants unbuttoned all the time. haha I hope it works good cause my regular pants are super comfy its just the waist that bugs me. Lots of loose shirts are being worn. I feel weird wearing a tight shirt because it feels like my baby bump/pudge is just hanging out all like oh is she pregnant or just chubby.
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Sleep is good except this week I have had major achy legs by the time I wake up. It's like they are asleep and need to be shaken awake. No leg cramps yet, which is nice!
Best moment this week: Finding out baby was a boy, on Wednesday! We had to go to a different office to get the ultrasound done and I took us to the wrong building. Yup I was just trusting the fact that I had been to that building 2 years ago and I took us to the wrong one. Andrew proceeded to make fun of me. Then when we checked in they asked me if I had the paper the doctor gave to me and I didn't because I didn't realize I needed to bring it. I just thought it was a reminder that I had an appointment. Guess not. I was on a great roll that day. It was really quick and easy to figure out what we were having. We told the lady we wanted to know and she asked what we wanted and as we said it I could see the screen and knew it was a boy. He is proud of himself. I was glad we could tell though, I didn't want to have to wait any longer. The ultrasound tech said, "Yea I am about 99.9% sure it is a boy" haha YAY! We were and are so happy. It makes it that much more real to know what we are having and to see him moving around in there! It is crazy because I don't look big or really that different and there is a full on baby in there! Still lots to develop but all the right body parts and looking so big already. He is measuring 5 days earlier than the original due date but we will stick to the original as it is more accurate. He is probably just a big kid because of mom and dad. He loves sucking his thumb and having his hand up by his face. The whole time we were in there his hand was by his head. We even saw him full on sucking his thumb!! SO CUTE and crazy that we can see it all so well. He was even jumping on/kicking my full bladder! That was pretty cool to see on the screen. Then I went to the bathroom and he started moving around so much more, almost like he was so happy to have all that room back. Man, I wish we could see him moving around in there every day but I know soon enough we will have the real thing out here with us! He is looking healthy and all seems to be developing well.
Miss anything: Not being in pain. My back and legs are really taking a toll and we are pretty sure it is only going to get worse. The placenta is in the back which pulls the baby back instead of being pushed out (hence why my belly isn't looking all basketball like just yet) which also makes it so my nerves are getting a lot more pressure on them. It can be really painful and hard to move at times.
Movement: I feel him every now and again. Usually at night before I go to bed and sometimes after I eat or my bladder is full.
Cravings: I am loving all candy lately. Especially things I can just suck on, like jolly ranchers and jawbreakers. I am still loving lots of smarties.
Queasy or sick: No queasiness or sickness. I feel that my sense of smell is heightened a lot! When ever I walk into a room I can typically pick out a smell really quickly.
Looking forward to: This is my last week at Downeast and I am really looking forward to only having one job so I can rest a little more and make more youtube videos! I have some great ideas for the month of October and can't wait to get sewing. I think it will also help my back and legs to work one day and have the next day off.
Our "It's a BOY" Announcement
What a cute little profile
His foot!
Skeleton looking face.. kinda creepy, but cool.
sucking his thumb!
20 weeks along, 20 week to go!
I love you little guy and I am so happy to be your mama!

love, Alex

Happiest Day of my Life

Four years and one month ago today, it truly was the happiest day of my life.
I was sealed to the love of my life for time and all eternity, in the Los Angeles California Temple.

From that moment forward I knew that I could be with Andrew for forever and that made me the happiest I had ever been. And every day after with him is filled with laughter and love. One of my favorite qualities of his would be his humor. He brings me up when I am feeling down and makes an ordinary day extraordinary. I love his excitement and joy for life and all it has to offer. He has made these past four years the best years of my life. I love him and could not ask for a better man to spend all of eternity with.

Looking back on year three..
  • Fall 2013 semester at BYU
  • BYU Football, lots of football games
    • BYU vs. Texas football game. The rain, the cold, the amazing game! It was awesome!
    • The same night the scooter broke down on our way home. Andrew almost broke his foot making sure we didn't die.
  • Many trips up to Rexburg to visit family, haunt at the straw maze and meet our newest nephew Ryder Jay!
  • Thanksgiving in Rexburg with the Sorensen's. Relaxing and Snowboarding.
  • We hit a deer on our way home, after Thanksgiving.
  • Andrew turned 24!!!
  • Went to Kansas for Christmas with the Browns
  • Andrew went to his first KU game!
  • Andrew continued working as a property manager
  • I took an entrepreneurship class at BYU to finish my major off.
  • Lots of BYU Basketball games!
  • In March 2014 we went to California to spend time with the Sorensen's.
  • In April 2014 I graduated from BYU with a bachelor in Family Life.
  • Also in April, actually the week before graduation we moved to Rexburg, Idaho for Andrew to finish off school at BYU-Idaho.
  • Andrew started school again in April 2014. He had a great semester that gave him great ideas of what he wants to do with his major.
  • I started working at Down East and for an online Fabric company in Idaho Falls.
  • We found out we were pregnant at the end of June! AH
  • I turned 23!!!
  • We spent a lot of time with the Brown's when they came out to Idaho for a couple weeks
  • Annual trip to Lake Powell. Amazing as usual.
  • Took a trip to California before fall semester started.
  • Andrew started his final year of school for his Bachelors!
It has been a busy year and I don't expect any less from the year to come. I expect it to be even more busy! But I know we will have so much fun together and laugh the whole way through. There are a lot of changes coming, which make me a little nervous, but I know that together we can handle anything and everything. Our love and laughter will get us through these busy, crazy, beautiful times.

I love you Andrew English Sorensen. I am so happy to be your wife. Thank you for being my love.

Love, alex :)

Hello Baby - Week 19

How far along: 19 weeks!
Gender: We find out on WEDNESDAY! AH
Weight gain: around 4-5 lbs.
Maternity clothes: I haven't bought any true maternity clothes yet. I definitely don't button my pants anymore and usually just use a hair tie to keep it together. I really don't like tightness on my waist.
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Sleeping pretty well.. a little tossing and turning from achyness and back and leg pain. Starting to have to go to the bathroom once in the middle of the night. Every once in a while I have heart burn.
Best moment this week: Having Thursday off! I love being able to sleep in and get things done around the house. I was able to get groceries and start to make a youtube video! I feel like I never have enough time to sew any more and would love to get back to it.
Miss anything: I miss not having pain in my back and legs. It really makes work difficult.
Movement: I was really excited to start feeling baby move so I felt pretty cautious of it for the past few weeks. Around 15-16 weeks I thought there might be some movement I was feeling but I wasn't sure if it was just my body or baby. This past week I really feel that I have started feeling something, almost like little kicks right up front. Now it could still be just my body but I like to think it is our little mister or lady.
Cravings: I am always wanting Mexican food. I didn't think it was possible but Andrew might be getting sick of it. Smarties were never my favorite candy but now I can't get enough of them. I had to by a bag of them to munch on. If you know me you know I love sweets and all types of desserts but now a days they aren't my first pick, it is really weirding me out.
Queasy or sick: No queasyness or sickness. All of my nausea has gone away. Now just certain foods don't taste or sound good and smells annoy me. I have always loved thai food and now it doesn't sound good at all. but thats about it.
Looking forward to: Find out the gender on Wednesday! I think it is a boy. So if it's a girl then I will be REALLY surprised. even a lot of the wives tales say its a boy, so we will wait and see! Obviously we will so so happy with whatever baby is, we just want to know! AH SO EXCITED!

Week 19
Love you little one!

Love, Alex

Recapping Weeks 15-19

We have a little mango baby!

We just hit 19 weeks today. Its crazy and awesome and I am getting really excited. Next week we get to find out if you are a boy or a girl in there. I CAN'T wait! I think it might really start to make it real... It still hasn't really hit me.. I'm not sure if it really will until I have to go push baby out of me and then get to take you him/her home! AH

I can't wait to be a mom though. I have wanted to be a mom my whole life and it is finally becoming real. Thank you baby, it is all because of you.

We have had a pretty good week, a little more lax for me which has been nice but a little rough for Andrew getting back into the swing of things in school. Last week on Wednesday I got off work at 2pm and then headed straight to St. George. I had never driven that far by myself and I was actually pretty nervous about it. The length of it, the boringness of it and the being pregnant part. But it turned out okay. Definitely long, my butt and legs were sore and achy by the time I got there but I found things to listen to and people to talk on the phone so that helped!

I went down because Lisa and I signed up for a serging conference for the weekend. The conference was awesome!! I was expecting to get a little sleepy and have a hard time being in class all day but it really was great. I loved learning old and new things and working on AMAZING sergers! They were to die for. It was also really fun hanging out and bonding with Lisa for the weekend. We had a lot of fun talking sewing, crafting, and fabrics!

The week before (aka the first week of September) Andrew and I went to California for the week. It was the BEST! Such a good trip, full of relaxation but also adventure and seeing new things. We were there during our anniversary so we got a chance to spend the day together exploring LA.

We first headed to the California Science Center to mainly see the space shuttle Endeavour, that was just put there and they are building a million dollar facility for. It is HUGE! and awesome. You can't even comprehend the fact that it has been to space and back multiple times! We got to learn all about it and then walk around it and see it in all its hugeness.

We then headed to the Santa Monica Pier. I absolutely love that place. and it holds so many good memories for us. I have always loved ferris wheels and this one is just perfection. You have the beach, the ocean, the sunset, the city, and not to mention the amazing man that was sitting next to me! The day before our wedding we took wedding pictures all day long. One spot that I had to have pictures done at was the pier, on the ferris wheel. So on our anniversary I thought it would be fun to go ride the ferris wheel again, since we had not ridden it since our wedding. Oh my what four years has brought us to!

Then we headed to our favorite restaurant, Gladstones.  I am not a fish loving person but I LOVE clam chowder and they have the BEST clam chowder you will ever eat. and you get this delicious bread to dip in it so I was a pretty happy girl. Not to mention the view of the ocean that is absolutely stunning. Andrew likes to get a yummy fish and I am pretty sure he leaves drooling still because of how good it is.

Of course we then had to go get some dessert so we headed to BJ's where they have the yummiest pazookies (pizza cookies). We were stuffed and exhausted by the time we were done and heading home. It was a perfect day together.

On the other days we were in California we did a little shopping both clothing and fabric, we went to the beach and did a little body boarding, we went to a Dodger's baseball game and saw some amazing fireworks, and just relaxed and hung out with family. What better way to spend a week!

Since being back I am just working working working. and Andrew is back into the grind of things at school. I think it is going to be a crazy semester for him. He has also been working at the straw maze and helping get things ready before they opened and now helping at night. He is SO excited to start haunting next weekend! He got his new mask in yesterday and I am not sure he is going to be able to wait a week to scare with it. The mask is pretty awesome.. it is VERY real looking which makes it really creepy. He is going to do an awesome job. He made a video for the haunted forest and it turned out really good! He is just so talented in so many things. I am so proud of him and all the hard work he does.
The MASK!
Ryder didn't know what to think..
our poor children. haha

I just love that guy. even in a creepy mask.

I have been feeling great. Still just tired and more sciatic nerve and lower back pain. I am pretty sure that is going to last forever. I feel that the sciatic nerve pain is just getting worse. Now just standing I can feel it hurting. and then bending and moving a lot just makes it worse. I'm finding ways to make it better, so far it is just lots and lots of stretching. But I feel really lucky with how easy pregnancy has been.

I am definitely popping more, however now I feel that it just looks like I have gained weight in the belly, not that there is a baby in there. I am enjoying the smaller belly while I can because I know soon enough I will be huge. Keep growing healthy and strong in there little one! We love you so so so much.

Hopefully I can start updating more and keep a good record of this amazing, beautiful process we get to go through. Stay tuned for more!

love,alex&andrew

P.S- We met Youtube stars, icons, and role models Shay Carl and Colette. We have watched them for five years and he is the one who inspired me to start my own channel! We were shocked we ran into them and a little star struck.
